En croisière au parc Fanthom Five

Lundi après midi on a prit un bateau pour visiter les petites îles du coin et visiter Flower Pot Island.

Le fond en section de verre nous donne possibilité de voir plusieurs bateaux qui ont coulé dans le passé.  On trouve un eau peu profond entre les îles.  Ceci se voit très bien à travers ces fenêtres.  On  nous que c'est la raison qu'il y a plusieurs naufrages.

Le Tim Horton

On s'est rendu à Wiarton aujourd'hui pour une bonne soupe et sandwich avec café.  Chez nous les Tim Horton's sont à chaque coin de rue mais ici il faut voyager 77 km!

Google Street view

While driving around our campgrounds today, we saw the Google Street view car taking 360° images of the camp sites.  Look for a green tent and large blue tarp at site 239 Tamarack campground for our place.

If you are looking for a great summer read, let me recommend, e: The Story of a Number.  It is a history of mathematics with particular interest on that value 'e' that has a value of 2.72 or so.  It shares fame with that other special number, pi (3.14 or so).  I am about mid-way, and I would recommend it to all my previous calculus students.  It exhaustively covers the tension between Newton and Leibniz over the origins of differential and integral calculus.  If I were to teach mcv4u over again, I would change my strategy by adding the historical content and give way more credit to Leibniz.

Le ciel bleu - la toile

Here are the tools necessary for setting up an eating shelter (as taught to me by a clever Australian camper).  The Sleeman's Cream Ale was not the best choice, but I originally thought it was a Honey Brown.  The 10 iron (10" adjustable for my golfing buddies) is used to launch the tie lines to appropriate tree branches at a good height.  The ropes shown are but a limited sample of those used.  You can't have too many lines, and close examination of any site will find you more to add to your stock.

The lower right photo shows proper installation with two lines on a corner to get a vector sum to pull in a virtual direction.  Also shown in yellow is the drain line.

Le wifi est rare - alors quand possible je compose dans la petite bibliothèque au coeur de la ville pour afficher les articles.

Le trailer

As-tu bien vérifié la liste de camping?  On arrive à notre emplacement tout content, et on commence â vider les bagages.  Les clés du trailers, où sont-elles?  Je crois qu'elles sont dans le garage.  Quoi faire? On sort la boîte d'outil pour trouver les pinces.  Ça me rend 5 secondes à briser l'anneau pour libérer le cadenat.  Quel système de sécurité?? 

Le restaurant

We put off eating in Goderich knowing that we would find something better at the next little town.  There was always a Tim Horton's but someone wanted something different.  Well at 2 pm or so we found ourselves past the park and into Tobermory where we found this neat little fish and chips place in the harbour area.  This little harbour area is full of little shops reminding us of the Grand Bend area without the beach.  The big attraction here is the Chi-cheemaun ferry.  All of the economy including the glass bottom boats, and tours rely on the ship's voyage to Manitoulin Island.

La destination

On planifie le voyage avec Google Maps et on décide de suivre le chemin le long du lac Huron.  On va quitté le matin car M. Google nous dit que ça prendra au moins 5 heures sans arrêts !
